Being productive can sometimes be a struggle with the never-ending lists of things to do both in our personal and business life.  Want more time and freedom to do the things you love?  I know I do!  Apps can be a great tool to help with these challenges, but there are a lot of them out there and it’s hard to figure out which one works best.  After testing several apps, here are the top 5 productivity apps that work for me.  I hope you find this list and these apps as helpful as I do!

Asana with Instagantt

Asana is a project management tool (PERSONAL FAVE!) designed to improve collaboration. It allows you to manage projects and tasks online without the use of email.  Call me a geek, but I love laying out my projects in an “excel” type format and then seeing it displayed in a GANTT chart.  For the visual types, you’ll love syncing Asana with Instagantt because you’ll see all of your projects, including due dates, subtasks, progress, etc. all in a visual “chart”.  You can also assign tasks to your team and reminders will be sent by Asana.

  • Website: www.asana.comwww.instagantt.com
  • Cost:
    • Asana – FREE for up to 15 users. There’s also a premium version, which is $9.99 per member per month, billed annually.  Click here for more details.
    • Instagantt - FREE for 3 projects.  If you want unlimited projects plus a bunch of other bells and whistles, there’s pricing for single and multiple users.  Click here for more details.

Evernote

Evernote is an app that is great for note taking, organizing, and archiving.  It allows you to create a "note" which can be text, a webpage, a picture, a voice memo, or a handwritten "ink" note.  You can also attach files to notes.  To organize your “notes” even more, you can create notebooks, tag them, comment, search, and export.

  • Website: www.evernote.com
  • Cost: The basic version is FREE and includes up to 60 MB of new uploads per month and syncs across 2 devices.  There’s also a plus version for $34.99/year and a premium version for $69.99/year. Click here for more details.

Proven

Are you looking for a way to make your hiring process easier?  Employees are very important to business and finding the right one could be very hard.  Proven is a tool that helps you post your jobs to all of the top sites, monitor all of your candidates, and then hire them.

  • Website: www.proven.com
  • Cost: There are different levels of pricing depending on the number of jobs you post.  Here’s the gist of it, but check out their website for more up-to-date details.
    • 1 job – FREE 5-day trial; $99/ job
    • 5 jobs - $50/ job
    • 10 jobs - $40/job

Trello

I’m a visual person so I LOVE Trello.  It’s an easy, free, and visual tool that helps you get organized and manage projects.  It’s set up like post-it-notes.  Projects are represented by “boards”.  Within a board, you have “lists” and within lists you have “cards”.  You can drag-and-drop the cards from one list to another.  For example, you can move an idea from implementation to testing to launch.  You can also assign a card to different team members.

Zapier

There are so many different apps that I use so I turn to Zapier to help me connect everything.  Zapier is a tool that connects apps, automate tasks, and save time.  It’s also easy to set up so you don’t have to be a techy.

  • Website: www.zapier.com
  • Cost: Basic accounts cost $20 per month and include Premium Apps, but not Autoreplay Tasks, 600 tasks per month, and 20 Zaps.  There’s also a business version, which costs $49 per month. Click here for more details.

So, download these apps, get productive, and do the things you love with all of your extra free time.  Till next time... :)
